JAZZ MUSIC IS THE POWER OF NOW. Wynton Marsalis

Swing, blues, groove, phrasing… welcome to the world of jazz. In this music and dance workshop, Patricia offers participants an opportunity to experience the essence of “Jazz Dance.” Participants will explore different aspects of this universal expression. This is a great chance to soak up syncopated rhythms through collective celebration and fully experience THE POWER OF NOW.

Patricia Greenwood Karagozian

Patricia was born in the US. She began her career at the Pittsburgh Ballet Theater before going on to work as a dancer with the Pittsburgh Civic Light Opera in eighteen musicals, including West Side Story, My Fair Lady, Mame, Brigadoon and others. She is also a renowned teacher. She offers training courses for the State Diploma and Proficiency Certificate in jazz dance, and since 1995 she has led workshops in body-based musicality and improvisation in France and Europe. Through the PGK Company, which she founded, she brings dancers and musicians together on stage to showcase collective creation based on a jazz expression involving both music and the other senses.

Classes take place once a month from 10 am to 4 pm at Le Quartz (Brest)

Annual fee: 135€ for 9 masterclasses
Individual fee: 25€ per masterclass
Fee for University of Western Brittany students: €5 per month or €35 per year* GANG membership fee: 5€ per season
